How will Rotherham United fare over the Festive Period?

Join us as we run down all of Rotherham United's fixtures over the Christmas period!

Rochdale (H) 07/12

First up for Rotherham United in their Christmas run of games is Rochdale at home. The visitors have lost five straight games in the league and should be low on confidence going into this one. On the back of their great comeback FA Cup win days earlier, Rotherham will be raring to go hoping that they can continue on with their current momentum. The Millers have found it tough against the so-called weaker sides so far, so expect this to be an awkward game, but Paul Warne's side should have enough to win it in the end.

Southend United (A) 14/12

Southend have arguably been the league's poorest side this season. At time of writing, they have picked up just six points, are yet to win at home and they have been leaking goals left right and centre. When you look at the attacking options at Rotherham's disposal, they could have a field day against Sol Campbell's side. Freddie Ladapo, Michael Smith, and Matt Crooks are all firing on all cylinders at the moment, and if the Millers play to their full potential, this should be a comfortable win for them.

Fleetwood Town (H) 21/12

Fleetwood Town (H) 21/12

On paper this is the first major test for Rotherham United during the Christmas run of games. Fleetwood have been one of the league's strongest sides all season. Manager Joey Barton has built a very cohesive and talented team from back to front, with Josh Morris, Paddy Madden and Harry Souttar all impressing. This may be a very topsy turvy game that could easily go either way. A win for either side would be massive for them moving forward but it is difficult to see anything separating each team here.

Shrewsbury (A) 26/12

Shrewsbury (A) 26/12

This is not the most fashionable of Boxing Day trips for the Millers as they face the difficult task of travelling to face Shrewsbury. Rotherham United may pick up their first defeat of the festive run here. The Shrews have some very experienced and proven operators in their squad with the likes of Jason Cummings, Ethan Ebanks-Landell and Dave Edwards. They have already beaten Portsmouth, Sunderland and Peterborough at home this season, and they may add Rotherham to that list here.

Peterborough (H) 29/12

Peterborough (H) 29/12

Rotherham's final game of 2019 is against promotion rivals and free scoring Peterborough. The Posh have always been a great attacking outfit and this season has been no different. Ivan Toney, Mohamed Eisa and Marcus Maddison have scored an impressive 33 goals between them so far. This could be an absolute cracker, as Rotherham are never shy of a goal or two themselves. This is a tough game to predict as it could easily go either way, but expect it to be one of the games of the season come May...

Rotherham United 3-3 Peterborough United

Blackpool (H) 01/01

Blackpool (H) 01/01

The Millers' opening game of 2020 is at the New York Stadium against Blackpool. This will be another difficult test for Rotherham. The Seasiders have been impressive for most of this season picking up wins against Oxford United and Peterborough along the way. Paul Warne's side will have to keep Blackpool top goalscorer Armand Gnanduillet quiet, but Rotherham should have too much for the visitors to kick-off the New Year with a win.

Rotherham United 2-0 Blackpool
11/18 Points
